People who could be affected by the proposed closure of an old people’s home have just over a week left to give their views during a consultation.
Derbyshire County Council is proposing to close Derwent House in Ulverston Road, Newbold, Chesterfield, and build up to 50 one and two-bedroom ‘extra care’ apartments and communal facilities on the same site.
The council launched a 12-week consultation in May asking people who would be affected by the closure of the 40-bed home what they think of the proposals.
The consultation period ends on Friday, August 17, and so far residents, relatives and local groups have given their views.
