Holiday camp kids want to be next Jess Ennis - VIDEO
HUNDREDS of kids have been taking part in holiday camps at the English Institute of Sport in Attercliffe this summer - hoping to be the next Jessica Ennis.
The heptathlete's talent was first spotted at a holiday club at Don Valley Stadium.
Thirteen-year-old Liam Gilbert, of Richmond, Sheffield, said the Millhouses-based heptathlete is a great role model.
"Jessica Ennis is someone I really look up to. She's from Sheffield, like me, and she's shown that it is proven if you work hard you can do anything you want."
The budding sports stars, aged eight to 13, have been put through their paces in a variety of activities including athletics, futsal, rocketball, tae kwon do and boxing.
Coach Lianne Oldale said some talented kids were invited back to EIS for more coaching.
