SOUTH Yorkshire residents have been asked to hold fundraising coffee and cake parties in support of family, friends and others with hearing loss.
The parties can be big or small and held at any type of venue, including workplaces, schools, homes, and church halls.
They should be held on or around October 8, the National Day for Hard of Hearing people.
The aim is to raise awareness of hearing loss and the isolation it can cause.
It is also to raise funds for Hearing Link, a national charity which provides localised support to those with hearing loss and their families.
Sarah Smith, Hearing Link fundraising manager, said: “Hearing loss affects one in seven people so within every community, every workplace, there will be many individuals who are hard of hearing. impacts on people.”
