A MAN caught with heroin with a street value of £680 in his home has been spared jail.
Mark Wiseman, aged 42, was arrested after police searched his home earlier this year and found 13.7 grammes of the drug, along with a set of weighing scales containing traces of heroin and cocaine.
Wiseman pleaded guilty to possession of a Class A substance at Sheffield Crown Court. The court heard Wiseman claimed the drugs belonged to the previous owner of his property, but he was aware of what it was and that the heroin was present in his home.
Wiseman, of Carr Forge Lane, Hackenthorpe, Sheffield was given a 12-month community order with supervision and a requirement to take part in a six-month alcohol treatment programme.
