SHEFFIELD United players are going to need to keep their eye on the ball this season - so with just weeks until kick-off they visited the optician.

The lads from the first team visited Specsavers at Crystal Peaks to ensure they have winning vision to guide them through the new season.

The players underwent an eye health check, sight test and visual field test to make sure their optical health was on top form.

Fitness coach David Morrison said: “Every aspect of a player’s health is important and making sure they are in prime condition is something we prioritise as the start of the season draws near.

“This includes their eyesight, so we send the players for a check-up.”

Store director Gil Vasey said: “Whatever your profession, it is very important to maintain healthy vision.”
