Players at a junior football club in Sheffield are now safe and secure after netting the support a company which has installed new fences around their pitches.
Sheffield Rangers Juniors, which plays at grounds off Clay Wheels Lane at Wadsley Bridge, teamed up with Barr Construction, which is building a new Sainsbury’s store nearby.
The new 1,500 metre fence follows a soccer carnival in June, which Barr sponsored providing match balls, medals and trophies.
Club spokesman Richard Smith said: “With the new Sainsbury’s nearing completion, the football club needed a new fence to protect the property as well as both the road and playing field users.
“The fencing has made a big difference to the ground.”
