Help is at hand for ex-service personnel in Sheffield to find new jobs

Have your say

Former service personnel living in Sheffield – or who have a connection with the city – are invited to a coffee morning to learn about the Take 2 project.

The £50,000 Ministry of Defence-funded programme, aims to give anyone who has served in the armed forces practical construction experience in renovating properties.

Help with job applications, volunteering and training are also offered, along with housing support and training and peer mentoring opportunities.

The project has been set up by South Yorkshire Community Foundation with Action Housing and Support, Rotherham and Barnsley MIND and Sheffield Council.

The coffee morning is at Sheffield Cathedral on Tuesday, between 10am and 1pm.
