SOUTH Yorkshire churches, schools, workplaces and families are being asked to help to help achieve a milestone - delivering Samaritan’s Purse 100 millionth gift-filled shoebox for this year’s Operation Christmas.
Over the past 22 years, Samaritan’s Purse has delivered 94 million shoeboxes to needy children in more than 100 countries. To lift the total to 100 million and beyond, the charity is asking everyone in their communities to help out.
Keith Gibbons, South Yorkshire regional manager for Operation Christmas Child, said: “The challenge for us is to grow South Yorkshire’s contribution to this global programme, so we’re asking everyone across the region to help us achieve that.”
