A SOUTH Yorkshire MP took part in a charity zumbathon to raise money for a children’s hospital unit used by youngsters from across the region.
Wentworth MP John Healey felt the beat at the two-hour event at the Montgomery Hall in Wath, organised in aid of the Children’s Heart Surgery Unit in Leeds.
It was organised by Rebecca Mughal, Lauren Tilson and Jodie-Lee Crummack, who runs popular weekly zumba classes in Wath and Brampton.
The charity was chosen by Lauren – her ex-partner’s son was treated at the unit and sadly died there aged six in 2009.
The zumbathon has raised £500 so far.
Lauren has been carrying out other fundraising activities which together are expected to raise over £1,000 for the facility.
