Zero tolerance campaign to protect NHS workers

A zero tolerance poster campaign has been launched to protect healthcare workers in Derbyshire from abuse.

Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Trust has teamed up with Derbyshire Police to run the campaign.

Prem Singh, trust chairman, said: “Healthcare staff need to know they have protection from the sort of behaviour we would not tolerate in everyday life.

“There can be no excuse for violence or abuse of NHS staff and that’s the message we are sending out loud and clear.”

Chief Constable Mick Creedon said: “We take any allegation of abuse towards NHS staff seriously. People in caring roles should not be subjected to violence or intimidation and I’m pleased to support this campaign to ensure health workers feel properly protected by the law.”
