A YOUNG footballer completed a 90-mile walk during his school summer holidays which is set to raise around £1,000 for good causes.

Ben Nunnington, a player with Sheffield Wednesday Young Owls football team under-11s, completed the huge stretch of the Pembrokeshire coast over seven days.

He was inspired in the adventure by his dad Ian - who walked the Pennine Way for charity - and decided to raise money for Sheffield Children’s Hospital and his football club who need a new training kit.

Although he and his family - which includes mum Emma and younger brother Finn, seven - are still collecting sponsorship money, he is expecting to raise about £1,000.

Emma, from Crookesmoor, said: “Ben had absolutely no problem stamina-wise - he was like a mountain goat most of the time!

“The only time he slowed down was to wait for me!”
