A WORLD record attempt aiming to bring together the largest number of people playing dominoes at the same time is being organised to take place at a pub in Dronfield.
The stunt has been organised to take place on Bank Holiday Monday, August 29, in the car park of The Hearty Oak pub, raising cash for Help For Heroes, The Royal National Institute for the Blind, and Sheffield Children’s Hospital.
Organiser Robert Street is aiming to have between 600 and 1,000 local people taking part in order to break the world record, but needs some help to keep costs down.
He is on the hunt to borrow 150 sets of dominoes, together with 150 tables, and enough chairs to accommodate all the participants.
Any sets of dominoes handed over as donated gifts rather than loaned would then be passed onto local schools, residential homes, day care centres and hospitals.
