Happy snapper Dale Turner became the lucky winner of Bluebell Wood’s lottery rollover after signing up to a standing order over two years ago.
Photographer Dale, aged 32, and wife-to-be Sarah Ledger, 28, scooped the £5,200 prize after being recommended the children’s hospice lottery by a friend at Doncaster Robin Hood Airport where Sarah is based as cabin crew for Thomson Fly.
Now the couple plan to put the money towards their wedding in September.
Dale said: “The win came just at the right time with our upcoming wedding - the money will certainly be put to good use! It’s great to be supporting such an amazing cause as well.”
Claire Rintoul, chief executive at Bluebell Wood, said: “We wish Sarah and Dale a fabulous wedding day and hope this piece of good luck will help make it even more special. The weekly lottery is a great way to raise funds for the hospice and it gives a little back to the community as a way of saying thank you.
“We hope this will encourage others to sign up and have a go.”
It costs £1 a week to play Bluebell Wood’s lottery. Visit www.bluebellwood/org/join-our-lottery or call 01909 517 360.
