visitors are being urged to stay away from community hospitals in North Derbyshire if they begin to feel even slightly unwell, to prevent the spread of the norovirus winter vomiting bug.
The plea has been issued by Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Trust, which runs community hospitals at Bolsover, Chesterfield, Clay Cross, Bakewell and Darley Dale.
Matron Sue Dakin said: “We are requesting that people don’t come in if they feel unwell, or for 48 hours after their symptoms have gone.
“We know if is often difficult for relatives who feel they ought to come in, especially if somebody in hospital is relying on them to do their washing.
“But the risks of passing on the infection are very high and it can spread quickly.”
