BARNSLEY folk are being asked to spill their secrets on how they keep trim as part of an initiative designed to share ideas for healthy living.
NHS Barnsley, the borough’s primary care trust, is encouraging people to reveal their secrets to staying fit and healthy in an effort to inspire those struggling to maintain a healthy weight or keep their ‘get fit’ New Year’s resolution on track.
Hints and tips received will be posted on social networking websites Facebook and Twitter all this month, with the information also available from NHS Barnsley’s website.
Elizabeth Shassere, director of public health for Barnsley, said: “While reports over recent years have placed Barnsley people among the ‘fattest’ in the country, the many people who do lead healthier lives are often forgotten. Many people have been very successful at losing weight and maintaining it in the long term.
