Trafficking charity needs clothes to help victims

A Sheffield charity which helps victims of trafficking is appealing for coats, scarves, hats and gloves.

City Hearts provides accommodation and support to men, women and families caught up in trafficking.

Jen Baker, who leads anti-trafficking work, said: “The trafficked women and families have typically been victims of sexual slavery or forced labour. Women all over the UK who have been victims and managed to get away from their captors are usually brought to us with only the clothes they stand up in.

“Our first priority is to give them the dignity of some warm clothes, underwear and other essentials while they are getting all the medical help and psychological support they need.”
