FUNDRAISERS from a leading cancer charity held a tea party to encourage others to follow their lead and organise a get-together to raise cash for the cause.
The workers from Marie Curie Cancer Care organised the event to launch the Blooming Great Tea Party Campaign, which asks people to organise their own party over the course of a month from June 12 to July 12 in aid of the charity.
The tea party, which had a Mad Hatter theme, was attended by South Yorkshire community fundraisers Liz Howlett and Katie Grinter, and local volunteers Cat Sanchez and Danielle McCalla.
Liz said: “We’re asking everyone in the community to host their own tea party to help raise funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care this summer.
“Holding a Blooming Great Tea Party is such an easy way to get together with friends or family.
“The money raised by simply popping the kettle on will help more Marie Curie nurses to provide free care to patients with terminal cancer and other illnesses in their own homes.”
