Sheffield MP Meg Munn is backing a charity’s campaign calling for services to be safeguarded for tinnitus sufferers.
Action on Hearing Loss wants NHS commissioners to protect essential services, such as hearing therapy and ear, nose and throat treatments, which help people to manage the problem.
During the charity’s parliamentary event marking Tinnitus Awareness Week, Ms Munn met representatives and gained a better understanding of tinnitus.
She said: “It’s vital that people with tinnitus have access to support, so I’m delighted to back Action on Hearing Loss.”
She also added: “It’s important that music lovers across Sheffield reduce the risk of developing the condition by listening to their music players at safe sound levels.”
