Coffee and cake is being served up on the water to support a charity appeal in aid of cancer patients.

The Chesterfield Canal Trust is backing the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning appeal on Friday to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Tea, coffee, cakes and buns are being sold aboard the John Varley trip boat in Tapton Lock from 10am to 1pm.

There will also be a tombola and an exhibition of photos of Chesterfield Canal in the visitor centre close by.

The barge is one of four operated by the trust, and takes people on cruises along the five miles of waterway from Chesterfield to Staveley.
