HEALTH workers and community leaders have held a meeting to tackle poor dental hygiene among young children in Grimethorpe, Barnsley.
Nearly 60 per cent of children aged five and under have experienced tooth decay in Barnsley according to latest figures, compared with 40 per cent nationally.
The Oral Health Action Team meeting brought together representatives from local schools and churches, as well as dentists.
Part of a pilot project, the group hopes to encourage people to attend the dentist and receive fluoride varnish treatment.
