A Sheffield surgeon has returned from West Africa after helping to perform medical procedures on more than 200 patients.

Wale Olarinde, a consultant at Claremont Hospital in Sandygate, took part in a week-long outreach programme in Togo.

Procedures were provided free of charge, and volunteers also gave training to hospital staff. The trip was organised by the UK Forum of the West African College of Surgeons.
