DONCASTER residents are being asked to shimmy and shake their way on down to the Keepmoat Stadium next month for a fitness class with a difference.
The venue is teaming up with the Doncaster Deaf Trust to help raise vital funds for its Chelsea Flower Show entry - by hosting a Zumbathon on the Stadium’s football pitch.
Zumba is a cardio dance exercise that has really taken off in Doncaster over the last six months, combining Latin dance steps with more traditional aerobic moves.
Tickets for the charity event on Saturday, May 14, start from £5 each with further donations welcome. All fitness enthusiasts are asked to come in fancy dress with prizes for the most creative outfit.
Shane Chalmers, chief executive of the Stadium Management Company said: “The Zumbathon will be a fantastic spectacle with hundreds of people in fancy dress taking to the pitch in our 15,231-seater arena - while raising money for a more than worthy cause.”
