ABOUT 500 children are nearing the end of a £1 million four-year study into long-term improvements for people with diabetes.
The Kick-Off course, designed by staff at Sheffield Children’s Hospital and funded by Diabetes UK, is taking place across the country.
Children attended a five-day course to manage their type one diabetes and have since been monitored for the results.
The final data will be collected from the children, aged 11 to 16, this summer.
If the results show the course has improved the children’s health, it could be rolled out nationally.
