A SPONSORED walk to raise awareness of the issues faced by midwives working across the world has been organised to take place in Sheffield this May Day Bank Holiday. The Sheffield Association of Radical Midwives has set up the event as part of their celebrations for International Day of the Midwife, which falls on May 5.

The 2.5km walk from Endcliffe Park to Forge Dam and Ringinglow will take place on Monday, May 2, beginning at 3pm. It will also raise funds to support the development of a midwives committee within the Palestinian National Nursing and Midwifery Association, supporting mothers and midwives working in the area. Email hilary.rosser@talk21.com for more information and to sign up to take part or to pledge sponsorship.
