A FORMER Premier League referee and pro-boxer were present to launch a new fitness centre in Sheffield.

Ex-Hallam FC president Uriah Rennie and light-middleweight boxer Ryan Rhodes were guests of honour at the ceremony to mark Greens gym in Napier Street becoming part of Nuffield Health. Dedicated member Norma Almond, from Sheffield, was also invited to join in the celebrations alongside the sporting celebrities.

The venue will now be known as the Nuffield Health Fitness and Wellbeing Centre and offer health MOTs to members.

John McGuiness, Nuffield Health Sheffield general manager, said: “Becoming part of Nuffield Health has allowed us to introduce many fantastic benefits for our members, including the Health MoT and Meet our Expert events.

“We have had nothing but positive feedback from our members about the changes we have made.

“We’re delighted Uriah and Ryan launched our centre alongside our longest standing member Norma, who is a regular at our centre despite suffering a heavy stroke a few years ago.”
