FORMER footballer Ben Hunter is encouraging under-fives to dribble and pass as part of a bid to get them active.
The launch of Mini Kicks will take place on Monday, July 4, between 1pm and 2pm at The Dome.
Ben, from Rossington, represented Great Britain in the World University Games in Thailand and played professionally in the US until he turned to coaching after an injury.
Ben, aged 26, said: “The concept of teaching three to five-year-olds football skills proved to be a great success in America.
“When I returned to Doncaster six months ago I wanted to develop the idea over here and could see the issues were very similar to those in America.
“To me, getting children switched on to training and developing physical activity as part of their routine from an early age seems a good way to address this.”
The academy at The Dome will run on Mondays and Tuesdays. Visit www.minikicks.org
