Runners are being sought to take part in a 10k run this weekend to raise funds for the city’s Cavendish Centre.

The Sheffield Together 10k starts in Ecclesall Woods on Sunday at 10am and has a football theme.

Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield United club captains Glen Loovens and Michael Doyle are calling on fans across the city to sign up.

The event builds on the success of last year’s Carlton Palmer 10k, which saw the ex-England professional lead participants around the route and raise more than £18,000 for the centre.

Everyone completing the run will get a one week family Virgin Active gym pass.

Register to run at www.cavcare.org.uk/together10k for a chance to win one of 100 tickets to watch Wednesday or United in action next weekend.
