A NATIONAL campaign which aims to break down the stigma associated with mental health issues is coming to Sheffield.
The ‘It’s time to talk – It’s time to change’ roadshow – will be at Meadowhall on Sunday, September 18, from 11am to 5pm.
The programme is led by charities Mind and Rethink, and aims to address the fear and awkwardness people feel talking about mental health.
Janet Southworth, public health lead for mental health with NHS Sheffield, said: “Looking after our mental health is an important part of a healthy lifestyle, and the roadshow is a great way for people to discover how they can take positive steps to improving their own mental health.”
Campaign director Sue Baker said: “Face-to-face contact with someone who has experienced a mental health problem, who can talk openly about it, is key to transforming our understanding and attitudes and we want to start conversations across the country.”
