Sheffield’s Ponds Forge International Sports Centre has played host to the World Student Games, Channel Four’s ‘The Games’ and countless other international and national sporting events.
Now, the venue is set to hold a special event when families with children suffering from lymphoedemia come together for the second ‘Lymphaletics’.
Lymphoedemia is a chronic condition that causes swelling to parts of the body.
Children with the condition from across the UK, and their families, will take part in activities to help build confidence and educate.
The Children’s Lymphoedema Support Group, which is behind the Lymphaletics, is now raising cash towards the £12,000 cost of the event.
This year, as well as activities and games, there will be an educational slot with two doctors from London’s famous St George’s Hospital.
The event will take place on Saturday, September 13, at Ponds Forge.
