Sheffield’s top sporting sides have teamed up with health bosses to help city smokers kick the habit.

Yorkshire Smokefree are offering local people who attempt to quit smoking for at least four weeks the chance to win free tickets to a Sheffield United, Sheffield Wednesday or a Sheffield Steelers game.

Those who attempt to quit in the next few weeks will be entered into a prize draw where match tickets and other prizes including signed shirts will be up for grabs.

Claire Holden, service manager at Yorkshire Smokefree Sheffield, said: “This is a great way to reward those who have taken that difficult first step towards quitting smoking. Once you have taken that first step we can help you quit for good. Giving up smoking benefits your life in so many ways.”
