A pharmacy offering a host of new services has been given a big unveiling by a very loyal customer.

Lloyds Pharmacy has opened a revamped store at Crystal Peaks shopping centre, which will offer free extra help with skin health and pain management.

Richard Plummer, the pharmacy’s manager, cut the ribbon alongside Ruby Gascoigne, a regular customer who has also featured in The Star’s Women of Steel campaign.

The opening featured live classical music and face-painting for children.

Mr Plummer - boss at the store for more than 20 years - said: “We know many who suffer from long-term health conditions don’t always want to go to their doctor. What we are doing is providing services that complement GPs and other healthcare professionals.”
