Ticket sales from the academy’s latest production, called a ‘Show of Two Halves,’ generated £2,900, with even more raised from sealed collection buckets, as well as donations from students and staff.

On Wednesday November 30, Weston Park’s Community Fundraiser Jade Hearsum visited the academy for a special presentation, involving students past and present who performed in the show.

Sarah Szafraniec, Deputy Executive Principal, said: “Weston Park is an incredibly important local charity and one that is very close to all of our hearts here at Sheffield Park Academy. We’re delighted to be able to lend our support and look forward to working with the charity in the future.”

Added Jade Hearsum: “I can’t thank Sheffield Park Academy enough for raising such a fantastic amount for Weston Park Cancer Charity. The dedication and enthusiasm of the students is something the school should be very proud of and the money raised will make a huge difference to the lives of people living with cancer in Sheffield. We look forward to working with Sheffield Park Academy throughout 2017 and with their support, we can keep more families together for longer.”
