A heart attack survivor who exercised his way back to health is looking forward to keeping fit when his favourite gym gets a revamp.
Terry Green, aged 75, from Chapeltown, needed emergency surgery at the Northern General Hospital after going into cardiac arrest four years ago.
Three months later the grandfather was referred to Concord Sports Centre in Shiregreen, where he used the gym and rehabilitation classes to build up his strength.
He is now supporting a new project at Concord, which will see owners Sheffield International Venues investing in improvements at the venue’s Fitness Unlimited gym.
The refurbished facilities will have 45 pieces of equipment including bikes and treadmills, as well as virtual training programmes and a new lift.
“The new gym is going to be fantastic,” said Terry.
“It will certainly help even more people to get fit and healthy. Without Concord, I might not be where I am now.”
