A new café to support people with dementia and their carers is now open.

The facility has been introduced at Abbey Grange Care Home in Fir Vale, Sheffield, to provide information for individuals living with dementia, as well as those that care for them, within the nursing home’s local community.

It is free to attend and open to anyone affected by memory problems, either personally or as a carer, family member or friend.

During the opening event many residents of Abbey Grange spent the day exploring the new cafe, enjoying the refreshments and discussing their experiences of dementia.

The public café is part of the 75-bed home’s ongoing work to ensure its residents and their relatives have ample opportunity to discuss their concerns and ask dementia-related questions.
