A CARE home in Sheffield is to close after the council and NHS pulled their funding - leaving 60 people to find alternative accommodation.

Owners Leyton Healthcare decided to close Lime Trees care home, off Barnsley Road, Fir Vale, after Sheffield Council and NHS Sheffield suspended the contract with the centre.

The decision was taken after police were called in to investigate three staff members earlier this year.

No action was taken against two employees, but a 50-year-old woman was summoned to appear in court in May on two charges of assault.
