A SOUTH Yorkshire college will welcome a Royal visitor on campus tomorrow.
HRH the Duke of Kent will be at Kirk Balk Community College in Barnsley where he will take a tour of the site, meeting staff and pupils from across different subject areas.
The tour will include visits to the science laboratory, along with the maths, catering and engineering departments.
Afterwards, the Duke will unveil a plaque to officially open the college before being asked to sign the visitors’ book. At the end of the visit, the new school poem will be read by governor and teacher Steven Dodson and the duke will be presented with a framed copy of the verse.
The school recently re-opened after a £28m re-development to provide state-of-the-art facilities.
