ROTHERHAM United players Alex Revell and Dale Tonge made a surprise visit to Bluebell Wood children’s hospice - accompanied by their mascot Miller Bear.
The players were joined by the Community Sports Trust team and took along teddy bears and footballs for the Bluebell Wood children.
Jamie Noble, head of community at Rotherham United Community Sports Trust said: “I would like to thank the staff, volunteers and most of all the children and their families at Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice for the kind hospitality shown to Rotherham United.
“We were fortunate to be given the opportunity to spread Christmas cheer by surprising the children with gifts.
“We had the most humbling experience of the year and I cannot begin to put into words what a fantastic job the dedicated staff of the hospice do to make the lives of those young people better at what must be very challenging times in their families’ lives.”
Heidi Megaughin, acting chief executive of Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice said: “We’d like to thank everyone for taking time out of their busy schedule to come and visit us, especially Alex and Dale.
“The children were thrilled to meet the players and receive their gifts and we’d like to wish everyone at Rotherham United a very Merry Christmas from all of us here at Bluebell Wood.”
