a VOLUNTEER’S inspirational story of recovery from mental health problems is to be shared at a global conference.

Herringthorpe resident Glyn Butcher, a former volunteer for Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust, has been involved with mental health services for years as a service user and a carer.

His life has been transformed using Wellness Recovery Action Planning, a self-management recovery approach.

Mary Ellen Copeland, founder of the process, will tell Glyn’s story at a conference in California later this month.

He said: “Instead of living a life determined by mental illness, believing it was in control of me, I’ve realised I am more than a mental illness.”
