A DONCASTER charity marked its second annual lunch with a major cash boost.
Two cheques worth a combined £3,000 gave the Doncaster Cancer Detection Trust plenty to raise their glasses to at the event at The Earl of Doncaster Hotel.
Doncaster Central MP Rosie Winterton was asked to present the cheques, which were made up of £1,700 from Doncaster Round Table and £1,300 from Thorne Rotary Club.
The donations will go towards the charity’s appeal to raise £600,000 for a new state-of-the-art scanner at Doncaster Royal Infirmary.
MP Ms Winterton said: “The people of Doncaster have given very generously to the appeal.
“It’s a fantastic honour to attend the annual lunch and recognise that hard work.”
