A FIRST aid charity is urging people across South Yorkshire to ensure their life-saving skills are up to date so they can help out in an emergency.
St John Ambulance is reminding people to take an annual refresher course to ensure they can remember their first aid skills.
Mike Nye, regional marketing manager for St John Ambulance North East, urged people to sign up.
He said: “It is important first aiders brush up on their first aid knowledge every year to avoid what we call ‘skills fade’.
“To be faced with an emergency situation and then struggle to remember your first aid training can be a traumatic experience.
St John Ambulance delivers training at centres in Sheffield, Barnsley, Rotherham and Doncaster.
