Pub girls strip off for saucy calendar in Edith’s honour

The ladies of The Anvil pub in Stannington have raised more than £3,000 for St Luke’s Hospice… after dropping their inhibitions for a special charity calendar.

The friends posed for the limited edition calendar after being persuaded to bare almost all by Leanne Cavanagh, whose nan Edith Bradshaw was a patient at St Luke’s.

“Everything they did for her there was absolutely fantastic,” said Leanne, who lives in Wisewood.

“After experiencing that sort of care I wanted to give something back so I persuaded nine of my friends to join me and we created our own special calendar.”

The calendar was launched at a fundraising night at The Anvil and proceeds of sales, along with an auction on the night, raised a final total of £3,360.
