A COUPLE are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary in style after scooping a diamond pendant prize in a South Yorkshire jewellers’ luxury raffle.
John and Kathleen Morris, who tied the knot in 1951 in Hathersage, won the glittering prize at HL Brown’s preview event at Hassop Hall in Derbyshire.
The charity raffle was organised in aid of Autism Plus and St Luke’s Hospice, and raised more than £2,000.
James Frampton, managing director of HL Brown, said they were happy the couple had won - and even more pleased with the amount raised for charity by the fundraising raffle.
He said: “We are delighted the raffle raised £2,050 for two extremely worthwhile charities and we are also pleased to have been able to give Mr and Mrs Morris a prize that helps to celebrate such a long and happy marriage.”
