A PIONEERING project using a fresh approach to help people lose weight is hosting two try-out sessions in South Yorkshire this month.

The Mindful Bodies programme has been developed by Karen Foy, a coaching psychologist from Doncaster, to offer an alternative to dieting through continued research and development.

It is based on tackling the reasons why people are overweight and the issues which are stopping them from losing it.

An initial trial session of the programme, which is based on research carried out in conjunction with the University of East London, was successful in motivating and inspiring participants to lose weight.

Claire Walsh, who took part, said: “I feel so positive now thanks to the course and it really has made me think about the decisions I make. I am now confident about losing weight and it no longer being an issue that hangs over me.”
