POP singer Ed Sheeran made a dying South Yorkshire schoolgirl’s wish come true by singing at her bedside.
The star made a secret visit to see 14-year-old cancer patient Abigail Fleming at Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice in North Anston.
Sadly Abigail, from Maltby, passed away a few days later.
The youngster touched the hearts of readers of The Star when she organised her ‘16th birthday’ earlier this year, despite being only 14.
Doctors had told the teenager her cancer was terminal and she would not reach her real sweet 16.
Abigail had drawn up a list of things she wanted to do before she died, which included seeing Ed Sheeran in concert.
She never believed it would happen, but the 21-year-old Lego House star used his one day off to make a trip to meet Abigail and perform his hits at the hospice.
Her mum Maria said: “She really loved it.
“He didn’t just make her day, it made her life.
“He was a complete gentleman.
“He flew in from Paris to London and then caught the train to Sheffield.
“Abigail gave him a card and a key ring to say thank you.
“He gave her a bracelet which somebody had given him for his 18th birthday.”
Dad Richard paid tribute to his beautiful daughter.
“She was so caring and always put everyone else before herself,” he said. “She made an impression on everyone.”
