Politician’s plea to donate blood

Have your say

HELP save a life by giving blood this winter, a South Yorkshire MP has urged.

John Healey, Labour MP for Wentworth and Dearne, made the plea as he prepared to donate himself – and has made a New Year resolution to be a regular donor.

Last year, there were 6,000 donors in Rotherham and 5,000 in Barnsley – but they are only 4 per cent of the eligible population. For details, visit www.blood.co.uk or call 0300 1232323.
