PEOPLE needing urgent medical treatment are being urged to use Sheffield’s NHS Walk-in Centre over the Easter weekend to ease the burden on A&E.
Patients can drop in at the centre, on Broad Lane, between 8am and 10pm seven days a week, including over the coming holiday period.
Christian Ellwood, operations manager at the Walk-in Centre, on Broad Lane, said: “Patients want a service that is convenient in terms of opening hours and fast consultation times. At the walk-in centre, most ailments can be treated within an hour.
“The centre is available to everyone for minor illness and should be used if the patients’ GP surgery is unavailable.”
NHS managers are urging people not to visit accident and emergency, at the Northern General Hospital, unless absolutely necessary.
