Pilot project at local PCT

Have your say

NHS Derbyshire County has been named as the only area in the country to pilot a national scheme to make sure people receive better health care through regulation and monitoring.

A group of 21 practices across the area is trialling the system which will be introduced by the Care Quality Commission from April 1 2012. The initiative will see GPs required to work to a set of national standards stipulated by the CQC including handling of complaints, consent and infection control.

The Derbyshire PCT will be leading the pilot - to identify strengths and weaknesses in the systems to ensure it runs smoothly when it is rolled out across the country.
