A charity which works with street children in Uganda is calling for women to tackle a walking or running challenge in the Peak District.
The event is organised by Wilderness International and takes place in August.
There are four distances to choose from 25k, 50k, 80k or 90k.
The 80k and 90k events begin on Friday, August 29, and the others start on Saturday, August 30.
One of the charities to benefit is Salve International.
Sheffield University graduate Nicola Sansom, aged 29, who is a co-founder of Salve, said: “I am calling for as many women as possible to come and take to the hills with me for this rather terrifying challenge.
“I’m definitely not fit enough now to take on what is essentially a double marathon, so have several months of hard slog to put in to prepare for the challenge.
“It will be worth it if we can raise some much-needed money to improve the lives of some of the most deprived children in Uganda.”
The challenge starts in Hathersage and participants have 24 hours to complete the longer distances and 12 hours for the shorter events.
