PATIENTS who are kept in hospital at Doncaster Royal Infirmary have asked health bosses to keep the noise down.
The sound levels at night are among concerns raised through a patient survey carried out at the site in Intake, conducted through the Care Quality Commission.
The survey revealed inpatients wanted more privacy in the accident and emergency department, a reduction in the amount of noise at night, and better explanations after surgery of how their operations had gone.
They also told NHS bosses they wanted to receive a copy of letters sent between the hospital and their GP.
There were eight areas where the hospital was rated better than average.
Choice of admission date, cleanliness of bathrooms and toilets, and availability of handwash gels for patients and visitors to use were all praised.
The hospital was also above average for nurses cleaning their hands between patients, quality and choice of food, and clarity of letters to patients.
Patients were eligible for the survey if they were aged 16 years or older, and had at least one overnight stay during June, July, or August last year.
Hilary Bond, director of nursing and quality, said: “This is excellent news. Being in the top 20 per cent of trusts in England in eight areas, and in the middle 60 per cent for most of the rest, is a great achievement and all credit goes to our staff for their determination and commitment to provide high-quality care for our patients.
“We will continue to work hard to improve the patient experience even further in the coming year,” she added.
