take a trip down memory lane to your school days and sign up to support a leading cancer charity by taking part in a rounders match in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
Rounders in the Park takes place at Endcliffe Park on Saturday June 26.
The charity is appealing for fundraisers to get together in teams of nine and sign up to take part.
Dana Abdulkarm, England rounders player and under 18s national team coach, will also be attending to provide tips and tactics.
Rob Turner, fundraising manager for Macmillan said: “Rounders in the Park is going to be a fun, family friendly day with a dose of friendly rivalry thrown in.
“But the real reward is knowing that every pound raised will help to provide vital services to support local people affected by cancer.
Rob added: “Macmillan relies on donations for 99 per cent of its income, which is why getting local businesses and people involved in events like this is so valuable.”
The event, which runs from 1pm until 4pm, is being sponsored by M Plastering Services, South Yorkshire Welding Supplies and Sapphire Hardware and organised in association with Rounders England.
Jo Betts, from Rounders England, added: “Rounders is easy to play and people from all walks of life can enjoy the sport together regardless of experience, fitness and ability.
“We hope to have a fun day whilst helping to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support and to encourage people to take part in the game of rounders.”
The Star has joined forces with Macmillan in their centenary year to encourage as many local businesses and individuals to raise money for them as they celebrate their milestone anniversary.
Registration costs £10 and includes a T-shirt and afternoon tea.
